First Aid Training

On Monday 15th February 2016, 15 young people took part in a First Aid course to gain the skills and knowledge on being a First Aider. These young people have not only taken the time to attend a first aid training course, they also received a First Aid qualification. They will also be volunteering as marshals at our Gravesham Sport Relief Mile event on Sunday 20th March at the Promenade. You will find these young people around the Sport Relief Mile course supporting the participants and providing first aid to those in need.

Arts Award

On Thursday 18th February, the performers from the Gifted Young Gravesham show worked on their Arts Award Accreditation at Northfleet Youth Centre alongside STAGE-ed and Mike Southern. Michael co-founded Stage-ed with Stephen Palfreman in 2012. Michael played ‘Sammy’ in Blood Brothers in the West End for 10 years, as well as a year on the UK National tour. On screen Michael has appeared in numerous short films, and also has feature film credits. Michael has delivered workshops across the UK and Europe and is regularly asked to design week long Theatre courses to be delivered in schools, performing arts schools and universities. In London, Michael delivers workshops for London Theatre Tours and Pineapple Performing Arts School.

The young people then watched back their GYG performances and in the afternoon headed off to London to see Miss Saigon at the West End.
