GYG Zine Making/The Armpit
Writers, designers, photographers, bloggers, illustrators – we need you.
Internationally renowned arts organisation Whitstable Biennale are working with us to create a zine (magazine) by young people.
Meeting fortnightly, the group works with an artist to learn how to make and illustrate magazine articles. The project lasts 18 months and ends with the magazine being printed.
The articles are based on your views and interests.
Want to write about food? You can do it, and we’ll help you work out how to illustrate it with photos and drawings.
Want to create a photo spread about fashion? You can do it, we’ll help you work with a photographer to learn how to design it.
Want to discuss Brexit? You can do it, we’ll help you work out how to phrase a discussion and gather views.
More interested in graphic design, you can work with our artist and designers to learn how to create magazine pages, and then design your own.
The zine, called The Armpit, is a blank page for you to come and fill.
